R.R. Soares, o pastor que ocupa uma hora da faixa nobre da Band, comprou do Grupo Abril o canal 30 de São Paulo. Esse canal é do tipo "TVA" -criado para distribuir TV paga. Hoje, sem TV paga, pode transmitir até 11 horas em sinal aberto.
O canal de Soares está sendo sintonizado por quem já tem receptor de TV digital aberta na Grande São Paulo.
O canal 30 não figura na lista oficial de canais digitais de SP. Mas, como canais TVA são juridicamente telecomunicação, e não radiodifusão, eles podem tanto transmitir em sistema analógico como em digital.
A compra ainda não foi oficializada porque a Anatel discute se dará nova destinação aos TVAs.
